unemployed and loving it

so i have finished up at the NTA, they were lovely and gave me a nice card and a gift voucher for a bookshop for 15pounds! so that bought some mags and books for the plane! it is exciting to know that i am coming back to nz so soon but also very sad as my roommate anne is leaving london for good at the same time :(
this weekend did some christmas shopping, went to see the photographic portrait prize exhibition at the national portrait gallery, went on a carousel at this fair in leicester sq, and generally had a good time. with just 3 sleeps to go i am signing off for the (probable) final blog before i land in nz. will hopefully see most of my readers soon! (all 3 of you!) hahahahaha

school disco photos

this past weekend was all about school disco on saturday and all about hangovers on sunday. good times! and bad times too, was pretty dodgy all sunday. slept a lot, and anne and i went out for lunch and nearly cried when we had to wait for a bus in the cold. not cool when you feel fragile. so my great camera ran out of batteries half way through the night, it really is a crap camera (no offence to mum and dad who gave it to me!) as it goes through batteries like crazy. so i only managed to get some photos of us girls before the boys came over. anne has those so when i get a cd of some photos from her i might post them.

Thursday night is alright

yes, thursday night IS alright to have fun! i left work early and walked to the ice skating rink. everyone here at the NTA kept telling me to keep my hands in fists if i fell over so that no one could skate over my fingers, the thought of which nearly made me sick, so i was a little bit scared of falling over! but, not to be deterred, i made my way to the rink, put on my skates, and started to skate. the first few laps of the rink i was pretty shaky, very wobbly too! but after a while, i got some confidence and was whizzing around! it was really fun, and all those years of rollerblading out on the driveway made such a difference. i fell over once, right onto my bottom, when someone who was going really fast cut in front and kind of hit me and scared me. apart from that, i was fine, and was heaps better than some other people so i was pleased! i did that for an hour, and it was so much fun. i really wished that i had someone there with me cause it would have been fun with friends but i still had a good time and smiled to myself!

when i left after my hour of skating, i got a phone call asking me if i would like to go to a play - last minute to cover for someone who was sick, for £10. and i thought, that's bargain entertainment. so i went. it was called love song, with neve campbell, cillian murphy, kristen johnston and michael mckean. it was quite a short, funny story dealing with the infectious nature of love and the hope that it can bring to people. it was very funny - but i kept having moments of party of five and scream deja vu everytime neve campbell opened her mouth, mainly because those were and she was such a defining part of my tv history. all in all, for £10, i had a very busy and interesting evening. ice skating and a play! great day. the theatre the play was in was opposite the flash restaurant the ivy, but i didn't see any celebs coming or going.
